Welcome to Earn & Burn. We cover the financial mechanics of high-yield rewards points in Australia—and the art of luxury redemptions.
Our Philosophy
Frequent flyer points are not a casual hobby; treated properly, they are an alternative currency with remarkable tax-free purchasing power. But the Australian points landscape is cluttered with bad advice—encouraging people to spend thousands on annual fees or sacrifice home loan rates just to earn points they eventually waste on domestic economy flights or toaster redemptions.
We believe in two core principles:
- The Earn: Build points balances through life’s largest, unavoidable expenses—principally mortgages, business cashflow, and disciplined credit card rotation—without ever sacrificing interest rates or credit file health.
- The Burn: Never spend points on economy. Points exist to unlock luxury experiences—Emirates First Class private suites, Qatar Qsuites, Singapore Suites—where the cash price would be completely irrational.
